Daddy Crashes and Burns (And Then Kind-Of Recovers)

Wednesday I heard baby cries I didn't even know existed. Did you know they have a special cry that makes you drop everything your doing and almost poop your own pants?
They Do!
Danna even came over to help. But as soon as the clock struck 8:00, no bottle, no rocking, no amount of kisses could tame the baby rage. 2 hours of continuous crying left both of us sweaty and tired and she fell asleep in my arms - just zonked right out.

So Daddy listened very carefully to any tips Mommy had for Saturday night - she was working until 2:00!

1) Babies like bouncing (something missing from Daddy's repertoire).

2) Babies like when you talk to them - even if you make no sense.

3) Most baby activities end in either sleeping or crying - and you're hoping for the sleeping

And so armed with his new knowledge, Daddy boldy faced Saturday with confidence and bravery, knowing that bouncing and speaking gibberish would solve everything.

So confidently and bravely wrong!
When 8:30 hit, Daddy panicked and called Melody to come and help him - I was sure that I was in for another Wednesday night howl-a-thon!
But 10 minutes after I called - Danae fell asleep when I put her in the swing 'cause I couldn't hold her anymore! Melody comes over to a quiet house - probably thinking I'm crazy.
What will happen this Wednesday? Will bouncing win out? Will Danae grow claws and tear Daddy a new one?

We most assuredly will see!

Our Coming Adventure

This week are learning to take the bottle from Daddy - because sometime last week we seem to have forgotten how. Mommy goes back to work next week and Daddy might be in for some trouble.
Maybe Danae will be calm and happy! Maybe she will forget all about the fussin' and a cryin' and just smile, smile smile!

Or maybe she will be miserable, maybe she will cry and scream all night, not want the bottle, be really hungry, and have a diaper explosion every 15 minutes!

Wish Daddy luck!

Little Miss Smiley-Face

Okay, so I am in love with the smiley-baby. I just can't get enough. The best is when she goes from crying and fussing right in to smiling without skipping a beat. Who would have thought a grin with no teeth would be so charming...

We had many visitors this weekend! My boss Joe and his wife Toni, and her son Joel stopped by on Saturday. Sunday was filled up too! Melody, Hellen, Aaron, Kathleen and Melissa all stopped by to see Danae. Kathleen and Aaron brought us sushi!

We, however don't like sushi - unless it contains milk or milk products, or is in some way related to the dairy industry, we keep well away from it.
Well away.

We Got It!

Here is the long awaited smiley picture! It was quite a challenge, but Mommy got it. I believe there were lions involved.
And it's only right and proper to follow that up with what I believe is the cutest picture ever.
Here is that crazy stretchy baby we keep seeing in the swing. Look at the size of that noggin!

People Who Hold Babies and The People Who Love Them

Notice a theme yet?

How about now?

Come on! I know you can do it!

You're on the right track...

That's right! My couch is in 9 of the pictures! Good Job!

Danae Learns To Smile

Although there is no photographic evidence yet, little Miss Danae is smiling. It's like a U.F.O. sighting.

We'll keep trying to get it on camera. We have a couple movies of her almost smiling, leave your email in the comments section and I'll send them. They are silent and only about thirty seconds long.

I have a cold right now, so daddy doesn't get to hold the baby, and must wash his hands constantly. Sucks a little bit, cause when you see her smiling, you just want to pick her up and kiss her little face!

There's a mirror in the top of the swing, and since her eyesight developed, she is now fascinated by her reflection.

Who is that crazy, stretchy baby?

Skull Baby and The Chicken Wing-Ding

We had an interesting and eventful Saturday, so we are taking it easy today.

We had a little tummy-time. It was good!
Most tummy-time quickly turns to back-time.
Then we went over to Ian and Melody's for a Chicken Wing-Ding.It's exactly what it sounds like! We saw Danny and Michelle there. They were very nice. Danae didn't like the hot sauce, but the teryaki wings were delicious!

We are watching movies and drinking milk today. Yay!
