Merry Christmas!

We had a very busy and merry first Christmas! We saw many people and opened many presents. Of course, we enjoyed the wrapping paper a little more than the toys, but the toys are gaining ground every day!

On Christmas Eve we went to Grandpa Bill and Grandma Linda's house. It was very nice! We met Todd and Laura and all their kids and Grandpa Bill fed us apples!

Then we went to Aunt Karen and Uncle John's house for a Christmas Party. We hung in there for as long as possible, but we had a long day and so we had to crash at Grandma Fely and Grandpa Ron's house.
We woke up early for presents and meat pie! We heard it was good - if it doesn't grow on a tree or in the ground and get mushed up we don't really like it (yet).

Then we went to the GG's house for dinner. There was much wrapping paper and presents!

Girl GG even got us a Christmas outfit (we look a little like an escaped elf convict from the North Pole Correctional Facility)!

Aunty Jen even did her hair up Christmas Style!

Merry Christmas Everybody!

The Monkey Has A Bad Week (But Also Learns To Crawl)

Our little Danae is not only getting over a cold, she also lost her banana dinner on Friday night - and yes, Daddy was freaking out again. What sounded like coughing (which we have almost become used to) turned to be her getting sick in the crib. Again, Daddy called Mommy to let her know that they might be going to the hospital. Again, Danae was listless and gray and staring in to space - which Daddy absolutely hates. This time, however, we decided to wait a little. Her heaving was less urgent than last time, and she seemed to be keeping her color. To be honest, the thought of them having to take blood again was much worse than a little throwing up.

Mommy brought home pedialyte, and around 2:00 in the morning - after everything was out - Baby-girl drank a couple ounces. She is now back to her super-model color (yay!)

Her little baby-butt was unaffected, and is a beautiful as ever. The butt is currently scooting around the house getting in to trouble - yes, it's here. Crawling. If it's dangerous or sharp, it's the first thing she goes for (usually a couple seconds after you say to yourself "hey, that's probably dangerous!"). The cords behind the computer. The one corner of the bed that doesn't have a plastic cover. The chainsaw that we leave running in case we need it. Everything.
We have extended our stylish hats to include Daddy's tuke (notice Daddy's crazy chicken-head). I have to admit, it does look much better on her.

We have started the Danae Marie Music Club, featuring the best of the CDs Danae is able to grab out of the entertainment center before she's caught. This week: Marvin Gaye!

What's Going On?
Can you guess what our new solid food is? It's orange, grows in the ground, and is usually a big hit with rabbits...

And Happy Birthday to Bird-Man Brown!

Danae Gets Her Six-Month Shots And Discovers Transparent Objects

That's right! Apparently the first six months of your life are punctuated by being poked with needles every couple months. Welcome to the world, baby-girl! Danae took these 3 like a champ. On top of teething (you can just make out our first tooth above - we're calling it Frank), the shots wore the little monkey out. She's been almost falling asleep at dinner for the last couple nights.

Aunty Cat sent us some sunshine from Florida! This was after Kathy and Aaron sent us a care package with Red Bull (I was out of Red Bull!) and snacks (we were out of snacks!) Much love from our Florida friends!

We have recently discovered there are some objects we can see through, but cannot walk (or crawl) through. We're calling these objects - for lack of a better word - transparent. We're calling the object pictured above glass.

Learning makes us happy!

Devil hats make us happy as well!

Really? Everything makes us happy!(Except shots or naps or bumping our head or when the kitties run away or when we're tired or hungry or scared by a loud noise like Mommy or Daddy sneezing or when nobody picks us up after naps and occasionally for no reason at all)

Big fat props to Jen for graduating from nursing school (not actual footage above)!!

Danae's First Tooth and The Festival Of Trees (And Happy Birthday Pauly!)

Say goodbye to the gummy smile. Danae is getting her first tooth (see arrow above). We will miss the gummy smile - Mommy most of all! We have also added squash to our menu! Guess what sound it makes in the diaper? That's right: Squash!

We went to the Festival of Trees on Port Huron this week with Mommy and Aunty Jen and Kaine. It was good! There were many things to look at and many colored lights (we love the colored lights).

Aunty Jen kept us warm with her rosy cheeks - Thanks Aunty Jen!

Granda Sue's wine-cork tree was voted most artistic and most likely to get you drunk while making it!

It has become very, very cold outside. Grandpa Ron says it's going to get colder, but Daddy just can't believe that. It can't get colder. Danae will look the the Michelin Man when we take her outside.

Our sitting is coming along quite nicely, our crawling is still a couple minutes away, but our standing and walking are also starting to improve! We would still do a horrendous face-plant by ourselves, but we're getting there!
And Pauly's birthday is on the 7th! Happy Birthday P-Money! He turns 16 I think....
