Merry Christmas And Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas! We saw the whole family, we got to stay up late, and we kissed everyone.
Who are the heppest cats in Christmastown? Danae and Pooh. That's who.

We got (among a million other things) an easel with a dry erase and magnetic board.

Danae and Grandpa in deep conversation.
Grandpa Bill and Grandma Linda gave us a lawn mower!
The GG's threw a magnificent party as well.

We have been practicing our guitar.

Somewhere along the line we picked up a mysterious illness that made us cough and gag and run a fever. Daddy is not cool with baby girl being sick.
She just keeps coughing and she won't eat anything good. We think it's just a cold, then Daddy starts thinking it's bronchitis, and we just don't know until....
...we went to the doctor today, and Daddy never thought he would ever be happy to hear the words "sinus infection", but he was. We got us some amoxycillin and the doctor says we'll be better in a couple days. Yay!

This is our new winter look. Thanks Kaine!

Blizzards And Inflatable Beds

We have had an interesting week! We've spoken many new words, found excellent new toys, and discovered that we like snow after all (which is good, because there's a bunch of it!).
We are identifying the sounds that particular animals make (a cow goes "moo", a chicken goes "bawk, bawk".), but for some reason, we think an elephant goes "roar". Daddy is learning that Danae is always right.

We also met a puppy while we were out shovelling the driveway. Bonus!

The sticker thing is still in full swing.

One minute you're lounging around under the Christmas tree, the next....

...stickered.

We have come to enjoy a little "me" time before our bath.

Markers And Marching

This week we have graduated to markers. Specifically Sharpie Micros. It was tough at first. We colored our hands and clothes more than once. We have a system down now:

1) Only one marker at a time
2) As soon as something distracts us, the marker goes away
3) Marker stays on the paper
4) Marker is not food

We have also started marching around the house. We saw a show with marching in it, and when we say "maatch" and start kicking our little feet up, Mommy and Daddy have to join in.

There are occasional 3-person parades in our house now.

We went Christmas shopping today and played at the tot-lot in the mall. Danae was very nice to the other kids. She hugged one of them (and tried to kiss him!) and even came up to a shy kid and took his water bottle away. When she gave it back the kid just ran out and played. Toddler hazing I guess.

Sorry, no movies this week for some reason. Two movies next week. Promise.

We Turn 18 Months Old!

We have had an exciting week! We turned 18 months old on Friday, we have fallen in love with Elmo, we somehow caught another cold - and have become a little fountain of fluids!
We have also suddenly become...uncomfortable with the whole bed-time thing again. The other night we decided that from 3:00 to 6:00 in the morning would make a good play time. Mommy and Daddy tried to take her to bed with us, but she insisted in patting Daddy's face and saying "Sleep?". (Of course, when she says it it sounds like "sheep?"). Daddy could only look at her with one eye open and say "yes, baby, sleep."
...pat pat pat..."Sheep?"

Have I mentioned her love affair with Elmo? She learned his name so fast that Daddy was still saying "Momo" and Mommy had to correct him.

This is what a serious case of sticker-rage looks like. You are going to have a sticker put on you, and there is nothing you can do about it. Crying won't help you. Praying will do you no good.
