GG's Pond And Daddy's "Vacation"

We have had an interesting and exciting week! We have played many new games with balls and spatulas and kitchen utinsels. We are working on using a spoon and fork consistently, and the little people and dinosaurs are now "hungry" as well as "sleepy"!

Daddy had a two week vacation that he had to use by the end of January or lose. See the comfy pants and stubble? Guess who gets Daddy every day, all day? That's right!

Otis!

We actually fell asleep at 10:00 a.m. watching Nemo. We are still working on a good sleep schedule. Apparently, her people are going to have lunch with my people. They'll talk.

We went out to GG's house and played on their pond! After a mile long hike through the woods hauling a 30 pound pink marshmallow, Mommy and Daddy were a little tired!

Counting to Ten and Back To Bed

This week we have learned to count to ten (with help). Last week it was only "one, two...one!". Our sinus infection appears to be gone, and we are sleeping for 10 hours straight - in the bed! All in all, we have had a good week.

Our appetite is back with a vengeance. Breakfast and lunch are devoured ("More?"), and dinner is slowly making a comeback.

Mommy had a meeting on Friday and Daddy had to work, so Nama came to babysit for a while. Danae was very upset when Mommy and Daddy left, and tried to throw herself on the chair. The chair moved and "thunk!", Babygirl whacked her bean on the table. Then Nama was upset!
Not to worry, Danae is fine, and the bruise is fading into very pretty blues and greens!

The Great Escape

Guess who learned how to climb out of her crib on Tuesday? That's right. Bedtime has been a battle for a couple weeks now. When she's really upset, she'll throw Pooh and Tigger out of the crib, then yell "Pooh!" until you come in and pick them up.

Tuesday, however, the Pooh and Tigger throw was followed by a Danae throw. Daddy was bending down to get them and he looks up to see one leg out and - whoop! Daddy barely had time to catch her by her arms. She had never even looked like she was going to climb out before, but she must have been thinking about it for a long time. The first time was professional.

Thus it began. Tuesday night was loooong. Couldn't put her back in the crib, so Daddy removed all the toys from the living room. We sat in the dark, waiting for even a sign of sleep. When she couldn't find toys, she played with shoes (all the shoes go outside), she played with the footstool (into the computer room with the footstool). All we had were Tigger, Pooh and her blanket (which she calls Mit). So she put Mit over Tigger and Pooh and said "Sleep!" and made snoring sounds.
Daddy finally got her down around 3:00.

The next day, while Daddy was at work, Nama and Mommy converted the crib into a bed. Now she wants very little to do with the bed. Danae no longer sleeps, she takes naps on the floor of four hours apiece. From 2:00 until whenever is playtime (though we are working very hard on that). Mommy seems to have a working aproach. Daddy is a little more "when she gets tired, she'll lay down and sleep".

For the record, Mommy's method is better.

We still have a little sinus infection (and a secondary ear infection) The new medicine seems to be working. No runny noses for two days now!
And now for the good news: We're flying down to Florida on February 20th! We'll be staying for a week at La Casa De Latham. Well, good news for us. Not a bunch of sleep going to be happening for poor Kathy and Aaron!

Feeling Alot Better

The medicine has hooked us right up. We have our appetite back, and we only have a slow leak from the nose. Yay!
We took the opportunity to do a little Mommy surfing. It's all a matter of catching the right wave...

See this? Looks picturesque, right?

Now every weeekend we get a blizzard. Daddy's car is not a snow car, but Daddy's getting a little better at driving it. Who needs traction when you have skill?

Aunty Jen and Kaine came over, and even though you can't see him, Kaine's little brother Foster came for a visit too. Foster should make his appearance around May.

Then for no apparent reason, it got up to 60 degrees yesterday. Of course, we had to go play outside.

The blog is late this week becuse Mommy and Daddy went out for the first time to check out the Port Huron nightlife. Grandma Sue (or Nama, as she has been renamed) came over to watch Danae for a little while. Thanks, Nama!
