Guess who we got a visit from? Great big Christmas props to Aunty Jen for inviting Santa over to see us.
The tree is decorated, the stockings are hung, things are wrapped (mostly). All that's left to survive the event with our Christmas cheer intact!
Blakey is really trying with the talking thing.
Words Bebop Can Say: Boat (Sounds like bow)
No
Uh-Huh (I know, not a word, but it's the only affirmative we get)
That One
Moo (Again, not a word)
Meow
Juice
Baby (sounds like bay)
The Boy has to do everything, everything Danae does. What makes it worse is that Danae does some completely random things. Danae decides she gonna jump off the couch in the laundry basket (why!? no one knows why!) then Blake is most certainly next. 4-year-old legs are better for this than 2-year-old legs.
Happy Thanksgiving! GG's this year was another gala affair. Mommy was in charge of mashed potatoes. They were awesome! Turns out, kids love playing under a table for some reason. And why are all toddler boys dressed up in sweater vests?
This is final proof that Aunty Jenn can have her picture taken without making a weird face. Kind-of.
The Foster and 'Nae Christmas album this year contains such classics as "I was Playing With That!" and "No!". It's in stores now!
Bebop is seriously trying to talk now. So far he says "shoe" on command, says "no" and shakes his head vigorously no matter what you ask him (that's hillarious) and tries really hard to say "elephant". Our favorite book is now "Go, Dog, Go!" (no board books!), and Daddy has caught him on two mornings trying to climb out of the crib.
And Mommy taught him how to zerbert.
Danae has discovered "beauty shots" on the camera, so we have two copies of every expression she is capable of making. This one is Daddy's favorite. She is absolutely loving school. She wants us to count off the days until she gets to go to school again. She made a new friend, Sidney, who came down with chicken pox (yikes!).
We had a wonderful Halloween! Danae was a fairy princess, and Bebop was himself, or a baseball player. Mostly he just wanted to ride his bike.
Mommy was a witch, and Daddy was supposed to be a bottle of beer (he looked a lot like Gumby.).
Foster was a bear, but everyone kept guessing sheep, or puppy.
Danae had her funfair at school. She had her face painted!
Blakey got his first haircut. He did not like it. Of course, he's at the age where everything he did not decide to do for himself is torture. But especially getting his hair cut.
So much stuff has gone on in the last 2 weeks, it's hard to know where to begin! Danae started young 4's, she went on her first field trip (the apple orchard), we had a birthday party for Nama, Daddy's car broke (fixed), the furnace broke (fixed), Blake had his speech assessment, and last but not least, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Aaron had a baby boy!
Here is Baby Peyton! Uncle Aaron started his own blog, you can see it here. Congratulations Aunt Kathy and Uncle Aaron!
Bebop had his assessment for his speech (or lack of it). He was off the charts in understanding, or "receptive" communication. When they asked him to put the blocks in the basket, he did, and then started stacking them. He even pointed to a kite, though he's never seen one before! They seemed to think that because he was putting so much emphasis on motor coordination that speech just wasn't a priority. We'll see!
Bebop finally got to give Otis the big hug. Then they almost fell asleep together.
Danae's first field trip was to the apple orchard! We had a wondeful time. We picked apples, went on a hayride and saw animals!
Danae's teacher is Mrs. Phipps. Daddy did his volunteer day in Danae's class, and he is very glad he isn't teaching 4-year-olds!
Happy birthday Nama! Daddy could not make it to the party, but it looked like fun!
Thank you Florida friends for helping Mommy come visit! She had a wonderful time. We had fun but we are glad to have her back.
We have had an exciting couple weeks! We went to the zoo, went to the beach (twice!), played in new and exotic parks, and had an interview with our soon-to-be teacher for young 4's!
This is what we look like going to the zoo. We might have woken up a little too early.
Bebop was living out one of his animal books. He was pointing and grunting at real animals instead of pictures! Daddy's proud to say that he did not manhandle a single one. Unlike Otis, who gets a Blakey-hug everyday.
'Nae got to feed a giraffe! The tongue thing even freaked Daddy out a little.
Then she got to feed Blake!
I can honestly say, I have never seen him make this face before.
'Nae's teacher, Ms. Phipps, came today to interview Danae for young 4's. Danae did a wonderful job on her alphabet and numbers and colors. She starts school on Tuesday!
Bebop's going to be a puppy for Halloween this year. For some reason, whenever he gets the puppy suit on, he feels the need to push Danae into a corner. Danae thinks it's hillarious.
